Ile Rousse ...

Ile Rousse was founded in 1758 by Pascal Paoli ‘U Babbu di a Patria’.

Ile Rousse with it’s red granite islands, upon which is perched the lighthouse from where the you have a panoramic view from the Cap Corse to the Revellata; almost 100km of coastline most of which is beautiful sandy beaches and coves.

A beautiful backdrop behind the coastline including 2 forests – just a few kilometres from the coast, mountains whose summits are over 2000m and remain snow-capped till the spring – a region of outstanding natural beauty… The Balagne!

Around Ile Rousse you can visit the villages of the Balagne nestled in the mountains each has it’s own charm, be it a church, traditional architecture, beautiful viewpoint…
